Czech Government Scholarships 2026/27 – Fully Funded Master’s & PhD for Developing Countries
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MŠMT) offers the Czech Government Scholarship Programme (CGS) to support students from select developing countries pursuing Master’s or PhD degrees at Czech public universities. This is part of the Czech Republic’s international development assistance framework.
Who Is Eligible?
- Citizens of eligible developing countries, including but not limited to Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Guatemala, Ukraine, Moldova, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Cambodia.
- Must apply under bilateral government scholarship agreements—selection is country-specific.
- Applications are accepted during the official window: 4 August – 30 September 2025 for academic year 2026/27.
What the Scholarship Covers
Selected scholars receive full support, including:
- Tuition waiver at Czech public universities
- Monthly stipend, and coverage for accommodation
- Health insurance, basic living allowance, and research travel support
- Round-trip airfare
- Access to summer Czech language courses and optional integration support upon arrival
PhD candidates also receive research-related allowances. These benefits are intended to ensure full immersion in academic life in Czechia.

- Applications are submitted via the respective Czech embassy or national coordinator designated by bilateral agreement. Candidates must meet academic and language prerequisites.
